Getting a little annoyed now as I can't seem to watch any of my programmes on TV, all the channels are showing the news covering birds that are mysteriously dying. Everyone is in agreement that it is a mutated strain of Avian Iinfluenza (Bird Flu) they named this variant HN58. They think that there is a possibility that this strain can pass on to humans, but are unsure at this point. They are also saying that it is resisting all known vaccines and flu treatments, so if it can be passed on to humans we may have a big problem. Nothing in the papers about it yet, so I assume this must have started being an issue today.

I remember when the swine flu went around, everyone got sick, even the wife caught it and went down pretty badly, however because of my oddly strong immune system I managed to resist catching it. I do find it amusing how the press like to blow everything out of proportion when a new flu or virus comes out. I mean normal flu has killed more people than any other type. Ironically when the first 10 people caught swine flu everyone walked around with face masks, yet there are 10 million people infected with HIV and nobody likes wearing a condom. Its all interesting stuff, but I missed Eastenders because of this news. I just hope it is repeated at 10pm as the news about this sudden flu is getting boring.
